Building Minds, Shaping Leaders, Changing Lives.

About Us

ABOUT US

At The Polley Center, we believe that strong communities begin with empowered youth. Rooted in the neighborhoods we serve, our nonprofit is committed to walking alongside young people as they grow, learn, and lead. We offer programs that build academic success, life skills, leadership, and emotional wellness—all guided by the voices and needs of our youth. Whether it’s mentoring, college prep, or community service, our work is shaped by relationships, collaboration, and the belief that every young person has the potential to make a lasting impact. Together with families, schools, and local partners, we’re creating safe spaces where youth can thrive and rise.

OUR SERVICES

Mentoring & Leadershp

Developing Confident Leaders Through Meaningful Guidance

The Mentorship & Leadership program empowers youth ages 11–24 by pairing them with dedicated mentors and immersing them in structured leadership experiences that cultivate confidence, accountability, and a strong sense of purpose. By fostering relationships and providing leadership pathways, the program helps youth build their capacity to lead in school, work, and community spaces.

Life Skill Development & Wellness

Equipping Youth with Tools for Real Life and Resilient Living

The Life Skills Development & Wellness program provides youth with the critical knowledge, habits, and emotional tools they need to navigate everyday life with confidence and stability. This hybrid program blends practical adulting skills—like money management and time planning—with wellness education that supports emotional health, self-awareness, and personal growth.

Our goal is to build confident, balanced young adults who are not only prepared for the demands of adulthood but also equipped to care for their mental and emotional well-being.

Positive Identity and Self Esteem

Helping Youth Discover Who They Are — and Love Who They Are

The Positive Identity & Self-Esteem Development program is designed to help youth ages 11–24 build a strong, healthy sense of self in a world that often tells them otherwise. Through affirming, culturally responsive workshops and mentorship, youth explore their values, voices, and identities—growing into confident individuals who believe in their worth and potential.

This program is especially impactful for youth who have experienced discrimination, instability, or trauma and need safe, supportive environments where they can be seen, heard, and empowered.
